We were honoured to be invited to a round table with the Italian Minister for Disabilities, Hon. Alessandra Locatelli, and the Consul General of Italy in London, Domenico Bellantone.
It was a very important and productive discussion on social inclusion at the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the UK, followed by the opening of the Solfagnano Charter Exhibition at the Italian Embassy in London. The event was hosted by the Ambassador of Italy, Inigo Lambertini, in the presence of the UK Minister of State for Social Security and Disability, the Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms MP.
Our Founder and CEO, Olga Venosa, had the opportunity to share the work that We Are Stronger Charity is doing in the field of disability and inclusion, particularly our latest primary school project and children’s book, Riding Kindness (A cavallo della gentilezza), in both Italy and the UK.
At We Are Stronger Charity, we strongly believe in the power of inclusion and in the importance of enabling every individual to reach their full potential, as limits often exist only in the eyes of those who perceive them as such. It was a pleasure to share this vision with Minister Locatelli and all the other participants.
Many synergies and potential collaborations have emerged, creating fertile ground to move forward in a much-needed direction.
It was also inspiring to hear Minister Locatelli speak in depth about the Solfagnano Charter and disability reform in Italy, as well as the UK’s ongoing commitments shared by Minister Timms.
We remain committed to working towards a diverse and inclusive world, where every individual is welcomed and supported in a safe space.
